What is HCG?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a hormone that is produced to support a pregnancy. It is produced by the cells that make up the placenta and then it is produced later by the placenta. The primary purpose of the HCG hormone is to produce progesterone. This will support and promote the further development of the placenta during the early stages of pregnancy.

If you have lost the desired weight, discontinue using the drops, but keep on the 500 calorie diet. If you have not lost the weight, keep taking the drops and continue on up to day 40. During the last few days of the second phase, you will want to stop the drops. This is important in resetting the hypothalamus permanently. At this point, you will also begin to slowly add in some starches and sugars back into your diet.
Phase 3 is the maintenance phase. This is when you will begin to introduce healthy wholesome foods back into your diet on a gradual and slow basis. Make sure to drink plenty of water and tea.

There are some things you can do to ensure success on this diet. Here are just a few tips to increase your chances for success:
- Drink a lot of tea and water to keep your system clean and performing at its best.
- While exercise is not required on this diet, a low impact aerobic routine will increase your heart rate and then increase your metabolism. It is not recommended that you perform strenuous exercises during this program.
- If possible, order your food online. This will help to avoid any temptations that are simply too hard to resist.
